Mezcal Speakeasy

Hidden within Neukölln’s “Wild Things,” this intimate sanctuary was designed to bridge the gap between Berlin’s urban soul and the spiritual heritage of Mexico.

Central to the design is a console that replaces the traditional high bar, effectively breaking the physical barrier between guest and host. This layout fosters an atmosphere of private hospitality, where the host welcomes guests as if into a home, showcasing a curated collection of spirits.

The space serves as a tactile education on the distillation process: copper rods, burnt wood, and bespoke altars illustrate the journey from earth to glass.

Each altar is a dedicated stage for traditional vessels — Oaxacan black clay, church candle holders, and Peltre cups — creating a ritualistic environment where guests are guided through the diverse mezcal regions of Mexico.
